Taxonomy:
Sternotherus odoratus has no recognized subspecies (Iverson et al.
2012).
Distribution: The Eastern Musk Turtle
ranges across Tennessee from the Mississippi River to the Unaka Mountains;
however it is conspicuously undocumented in many of the central and northeastern
counties.
